Signed XIX Century Art Nouveau silver repousse pill box pendant Antique locket pendant gift for Her Murat Pillbox pendant
Large antique sterling silver pillbox pendant with interior gold gilt, made by a Parisian silversmith in the 1890s. Estate piece. The pillbox pendant has a unique clover shape and floral art nouveau regrowth work. The interior is made of a pure gold layer on silver called vermeil.
This beautiful quadrilobed pill box matches perfectly with chatelaine/ longguard chains, in an art nouveau style with decorations of chestnut leaves and fruits, in solid silver and vermeil interior, double hallmarked boar's head, double lozenge hallmark of the French goldsmith Georges Murat (CM and blackberry flower) 1897-1910, DEPOSE marking. This pillbox is in excellent condition, no damage, with beautiful silver-gilt inside. Light tarnish still persists that can easily be removed and light micro scratches to silver.
Dimensions: without the ring 4.8 cm x 4.3 cm, thickness 2 cm.
Weight: 19 g.
