This astonishing "Plus qu'hier et moins que demain" small love token is from the 1950s. This love medallion of all love medallions was first created by the famous Lyon jeweller Alphonse Augis. He based this loving text on a poem of Parisian Rosemand Gérard. She wrote the poem in 1890 for her husband.

"Car, vois-tu, chaque jour je t'aime davantage,
Aujourd'huis plus qu'hier et bien moins que demain."
Because, you see, every day I love you more,
Today more than yesterday and much less than tomorrow.

This vintage pendant is crafted in 18 carat solid yellow gold and is in-scripted with 'Augis' referring to the "inventor" of these stunning tokens. This wonderful charm with texture background and raised wraith halo just made us admire it for a while. This stunning small Augis medal is hallmarked with an eagle head and a very recognisable Augis mark.
What makes it even more luxurious is the diamond set in the + sign, and the minus with 2 sparkling red baguette cut rubies (Verneuil / lab created). The back is engraved with the name Bernard.
In excellent antique condition, light tarnish that can easily be remove with gentle polish and light micro scratches consistent with age (not visible when worn). Please note the pendant bail has been affined with time and could need some reinforcement over time at minor cost to any of your local jeweler.
