Black onyx and 18 k gold French Victorian mourning locket. Contains a lovely glass partition to protect a keepsake from a loved one. Closes very securely. Contains a gold cartouche for personalization or engraving on the front. Excellent state with wear consistent with age. Some small dents to the gold shield and microscratches to the onyx but nothing to take away from it's beauty. Only default is that the glass partition must be opened with something small, such as a pin and is hard to open once it is closed which explains the small dents surrounding its frame. A very unique conversation piece. Closes perfectly.
