Big oval shaker locket featuring thick and high quality silver frame with two glass on each side.
Dating all the way back to the Napoleon III Era, 1850s France. It has gorgeous silver engravings on the sides . The locket interior may be deep enough for small gems or gemstones. It could easily, however, be used to carry a picture of a loved one or pressed flowers or memory of your choice. A piece that will make a bigger impression in real life. In excellent antique condition, with some very light micro scratches to the glass consistent with age, the locket closes with a satisfying snap and will store any memories very securely. Light tarnish still persist that could be removed with gentle polish over time (more visible inside the frame).
The glass has a magnifying effect and the bail is thick and big.
This luxurious historical piece pairs beautifully with any of our antique French silver longuard chains or watch chains. A lovely and special piece for the antique lover in your life, or yourself.
